Spector: My favorite bass company. I've actually had
the pleasure of meeting Stuart, PJ, Oz, and Jimmy at Winter NAMM 2005 in
Anaheim. If you haven't checked out my collection of these fine instruments,
you should! I highly recommend the new Legend series basses to any beginning or
aspiring players. |
 |
NS Design: The one and only Ned Steinberger! Did you
know that Ned did the original 'NS' bass design while working with Stuart
Spector in New York in the 70's? You do now! |
 |
Ampeg: Truly awesome and earth shaking bass amps! I
converted to Ampeg in 2002. |
 |
SWR: Professional quality bass amps. I still have an
amp and cabinet that I've been using for easily 10 years. It's been through
hell and has never let me down. |
 |
EMG: Bass and guitar pickups. My personal favorite is
the 'DC' (dual coil) model of the extended series active bass pickups. |
 |
DR: Bass and guitar strings. I personally use Hi-Beams,
Extra Life Black Beauties and Red Devils, and Sunbeams on my fretless. Awesome
strings, but they really need a new web site. |
 |
Sonar: The best multi-track audio recording and mixing
application. I've been using 'Cakewalk' since version 3.0 which came on 2
floppies back in 1994. |
 |
Project5: The best virtual instrument sequencing and
composition application. Version 2.0 has really made some huge advances that
makes it the current king. |
 |
Fruity Loops Studio: Previously the best virtual
instrument sequencing and composition application. I still use this application
a lot. It's like comfort food for the creative soul. Hmm, I should copyright
that. |
 |
zZounds: A good place to find gear. Decent prices. |
 |
American Musical Supply: Another good place to find
gear. Sometimes you can find some really good deals here. |
 |
Musicians Friend: One stop shopping for gear. Not
always the best prices, but they have almost anything you could possibly need. |
 |
Sheet Music Plus: Sheet music, reportoire books, theory
books, methods, etc. If it comes in printed format, they probably have it. |
 |
Ricci Adams' MusicTheory.net: If you don't know much about music theory
this is a great online tool that will teach you more than just the basics in a very easy to understand
format using flash, text, and audio. You can download the entire site in a single package as well, I
even have a custom version that I made to use on my Dell Pocket PC. Contact Me
if you would like a copy. |
